Mr. Hovik Hovhannisyan received his Bachelor’s degree as a cello player at the Tchaikovsky School of Music in the former Soviet Union. In 1986, he received his Master of Arts Degree for the Cello at the Komitas Conservatory.
He played in the National Symphonic Orchestra in Yerevan from 1980 to 1983 and from 1986 to 1989 he played in the Chamber Orchestra in Yerevan. In 1985, Mr. Hovhannisyan received first place in the Trans Caucasian competition for cello solo-play.
Mr. Hovhannisyan received Angel & Gold Star awards in 2004 from the Southern California Motion Picture Council for his performance & contribution to the entertainment industry. Also in 2004, he was named cello player of the year by World American Cultural Exchanges. Mr. Hovhannisyan is also an experienced cello teacher.
