Maya Agasarian studied flute performance at the Tchaikovsky School of Music, a special school for talented students in the former USSR , until her move to the United States in 1990. After being awarded the Herb Alpert Music Scholarship Ms. Agasaryan attended California State University , Northridge where she held principal positions with the CSUN Wind Ensemble and CSUN Orchestra. In 2000 she graduated, cum laude, with a Bachelor's Degree in flute performance. She has studied with Armen Ghukasian, Toby Caplan, James Martin and Gary Woodward and has participated in master classes with Frederick Lau and Anne Zentner. Maya has been performing and teaching in the Los Angeles area for the past 8 years.
